i have found with my ps2, a v3 (one of the first fat ones), when i press the open tray button it doesn’t reset the console, so i don’t need to use the swap key.

Hello, i followed all instructions and it does work. I got a copy from gamestop (four bucks). I did the swap with the 007 under fire (and it was greatest hits version). It does work, i got it frozed up, but tried again and it worked. Thank you

@iMeAgainstTheWorldi You seriously did make it seem like we wouldn’t have to do any modding to the ps2, but I’m not complaining yet. If I do have to strip this console down, then I have just wasted time and money that I can’t get back, however I am interested in this 3 bits of paper thing you’re talking about, and I’m surprised no one else has asked you yet.

So exactly what is 3 bits of paper. Because I’m not taking the ps2 apart for this mod. I have a fat ps2 by the way.

@CHRISGT34 Actually, opening up the PS2 fat is very easy, and unless you pull the power strip apart from the ps2 and the buttons while pulling off the top, nothing will happen to your ps2 and you can put it back together. Doing this you can use the disk swap trick to play ps1 games. Take care.

@CommanderKairu Yeah I jumped the gun on him because I was frustrated. Him forgetting to mention having to use the swap method just blind sided me, but his tutorial really is awesome, I managed to get this tutorial to work using the method you just mentioned. You don’t even need to open the ps2, you can just pop off of the face of the tray and make a slider card and do it that way, but I opened mine up to ensure I was doing it right. Thanks for the encouragement by the way. :D

    Works, plain and simple.

@CHRISGT34 No problem. :) I know anyone who hasn’t modded anything before would freak out at the thought of opening their system. XP But with the price of a PS2 now days, and the pros to doing it, it’s worth it. (The part that got me confused was when he went into the /mass option in USBloader, I missed that part and was like “AHH, it’s not reading my usb right.!” XP

@CommanderKairu Oh yeah, you’re talking about the part where you have to access the noobie package folder. lol I replayed his stuff quite frequently for every detail because I know I would have missed some things. Now I gotta go buy some blank DVD-Rs and another memory card because there is massive PS2 gaming to be had. lol

I GUESS SOME PEOPLE MIGHT THINK THIS IS A LOT OF WORK BUT I SEE THE GOAL IS TO CHANGE THE SETTINGS IN SIDE THE PS…BUT THEY DONT UNDERSTAND THIS A ONE TIME THING, ONCE IT IS DONE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD ISO GAMES AND BURN THEM WITHOUT SWAP MAGIC…BE PATIANT
